Another missed deadline, but never mind...

I'm sure i'll find some more challenges to enter this card into.

I decided I'd try something a little different and try a free standing pop up card following instuctions I found on split coast stampers. I quite like it but ended up modifing a little as I'd made the topper for the tag bit first and it was too big, but after jigging a bit I think it looks ok.

The layout of the tag is from Whiff of joy, last weeks as deadline was yesturday but hey ho as they say. I have found some other I can enter and I quite like how it turned out so never mind.

Here are the challenges I will enter my card into:-

Crafty Angels-summer or bright colours, well I certainly have bright green and this green so reminds me of lush green grass we get with all the hot summer rain we seem to get , or have had for the last couple of years..lol, hope it counts.

Cupcake craft challenge-no square cards
One stop craft challenge-metalic, I have gold and metalic emerald is that enough?
Sketchy colours-gold and green
Klsns- browns, greens and white, didn't realise I could enter till I actually looked at my card

I've quite suprised myself at how many I found to enter, amazing how things work out sometimes isn't it. Hope you all enjoy your evenings and not long now till we are at another bank holiday time just seems to be whizzing by .

A wee spring fairy

Hiya all, just a quick post hopefully then I can go put my feet up for ten before thinking about having to start dinner.
Today seems to have been a very long one, didn't sleep too well then at hospital with Andrew for follow uo by 8:30 . He has been getting some pain in his other foot so that needed checking, thankfully the last surgery on his right foot seems to have worked and doc is pleased that swelling is improving.
Left foot ? fracture which after xrays seemed ok, then more xrays to see if old fusing of ankle still intact, this wasn't conclusive so he had a ct scan. All in all when we left at noon we thought we'd done well. Has to go back in a couple of weeks when appointment comes for results and see whats next.

That was the morning , then cleaning up, then sorting out engineer for daft dishwasher as it's doing wierd things and engineer to fit new cooker hood which fizzled and popped and died. That was really daft, to have engineer fix it would be £240 for motor after already paying £80 for engineer to come as back plate fell off oven too, but a new one which would have new warrenty was £127 and £55 for engineer to fit, no brainer really. The only good thing is thats my 3 things to go wrong!

Sorry I didn't intend having a moan but if you can't moan to friends who can you maon to?

My card is for nothing in particular really, just that I'd stamped and coloured the image and wanted to use it as I think it's cute. I have found one or two challenges it could enter so all the better. The butterflies are some stickers I've had for ages, can't think where or what I got them for but I used 2  and cut the wings from one and stuck to the other so they could fly and still look pretty. The paper is forever friends.

I am entering it into the following challenges:-
Lili-boo-too-spring yellow, pale green and blossom colour challenge
Allsorts-picture inspiration
Cute card thursday-layout sketch
Sir stampalot-fantasy

Using my pre done topper

I made this topper for a challenge a little while ago, if you back post I'm sure you'll find it quite quickly.
I thought it might make a nice mans card just simply mounted and let it do all the work, but then thought it needed just a little extra. I decided to add some dry embossing down the side of the card , which I rubbed over with some ink - gold for added dimension.

I followed this throughto the inside by following the dry embossing with black sakura glaze on cvream paper , which I think finishes it nicely. I cut around the embossing on the front just to add intrest and I hope it works ok, I like it but what do I know?
I am entering this card into the following challenges:-

Ooh la la-vintage man
Kaboodle doodle- embossing
quirky crafts-planes, trains and automobiles- hope bikes count too?
Charisma-quotes

A birthday thank you

Morning all, well the weather forcasters got a little mixed up didn't they for the London marathon, high sunshine temperatures predicted and they got rain instead. Better for running in so I believe.

Here's my card, I'll try and stick to the point as my fingers are quite sore form gardening yesturday , clearing the stream, weeding and re supporting the edgeing. Still haven't found the leak so far , but still more to do. Not today though.

It was my son's 16th bithday on friday so he has some thankyou cards to send for his pressies that he recieved in the post. Thankfully only one or two but here is the card I have made for him to send to his god parents. since they retired early they have hardly been in the country for longer than a couple of weeks at a time so haven't seen them in ages but if this doesn't catch them at least it will be there waiting for them. I will be phoning them too just to let them know his pressie arrived safely.

The card will be entering a few challenges , more if I can manage it will have to check my list, but here goes:-

Penny black-use 3 flwers,2 buttons and 1 ribbon
Crafty Ho's- something else april showers bring. Well after being in the garden yesturday and seeing all the dandilions that have sprung up I guess they bring plenty of weeds too.

Autumnal browns

I know, I know we haven't even got through spring yet and I too am so looking forward to summer , but these are the colours on my card.

I find paper piercing quite theraputic and it's one of the things craft wise I've found I can do whilst sat outside in the garden. After all all you need is a card stuck to a template and a piercing tool, oh and something to stop piercing yourself off course, done that before now.

I think the piercing does all the work and this leaf stamp just finishes it off, and I so love the clean and simple.

This will be going into the following challenges , providing I've not missed the deadlines of course.

Raise the bar-monochromatic with your fav colour ( I have a thing about brown at the mo especially when it's with turquoise)
Polka Doodles - monochromatic
Paper sundaes- no people
Die cuts are us-earth day celebration
The Corrosive challenge-Paper piercing

Kill or Cure

Morning all, well the sun is shining maybe this is another promising day might have to do some gardening later instead of crafting. Time seems so short of late as my son is still off school and exams are looming and he so easily gets distracted , so when his school home tutor isn't here I have to keep him on the straight and narrow. I am apologising in advance  for the next 8 weeks or so if I'm not around much but I am reminding myself and learning so much stuff.

Well this is another card for my just in case store, a get well card. I love bright colours and found a challenge that wanted vivid colours, right up my street. I decided as a get well card the shock would either kill or cure but hey you only live once right, unless you believe in reincarnation.

I used a sugar plum spring kit cutie as I thought she could be a 'bug' and added plenty of sparkle. The pink and red paper is made by using alcohol inks on glossy card. The base card is a forever friends.

The challenges I am entering are;-
Simon says-things with wings
Tanda teaser-vivid colours
Club Anya-layout(missed deadline)
Die cut dreams -use tearing
Easy craft projects-orange( hope there is enough)
Sew many Challenges-anything goes

Hot dog love

Well I'm back to making my just in case cards as I'm up to date with family birthday cards etc,so here's an anniversary card. I found this cute sausage dogs image and thought it would make a cute anniversary card, I think it was a freebie Pollycraft image, but if I'm wrong please correct me and I will amend my post appropriately.

I tried to keep my colours to pastals just for a change and then found scraps of paper to keep to the theme. when I'd cut them and laid them out I decided to back them with silver as I think it offers a soter look than gold and didn't contrast too much with the pearly spots on the liliac paper.

The paper flower I coated in stickles crystal I think, I put it back before checking so am not 100% sure, I used a craftworks candy to give the centre its tie in to the 'hot dogs' which I actually think look quite cool!

The little pearl purple hearts were a freebie on some magazine like ages ago but I thought they fit really well as if just waiting for me to make this card.

The challenges I will enter this for are :-

Pollycraft #40 -love the layout though I did rotate it.

Please bear with me whilst I rumage my note to see if there are any other challenges I can enter....

Thank you for being patient,

Make up 4 the weekend - use 5 embellishments, 3 hearts ,1 flower and one cardworks candy
Crafty Ho's-pastals ooops! missed the deadline

Sugar Nellie oldie

Over at Sugar Nellie , they are reminising about their early stamps and how the company started and how they commissioned different artists to produce their wonderful images. They have like a mini challenge to use your old sugar nellie stamps which were their early designs as a showcase. I have to admit I only found sugar nellie designs a little while ago but it seems that my first sugar nellie stamp was one of the early ones so I decided I'd play along.

I love this stamp from the cute little girl right down to the flowers in her hair and her name. I have a bit of a thing about daisies and can remember making daisy chains when I was a little girl, and I had daisies of a sort white gerbras for my wedding bouquet. Told you I had a thing about daisies. When I was pregnant it was one of the names I short listed for a little girl, hubby didn't agree so I suppose it was a good job we had a son. Come to think of it he didn't like all but 2 of the girls names I picked and we could only ageree on 3 boys names too. I am so glad we didn't have twins that could have been tricky as we agreed that our child should have 2 christian names .
Well back to my card, I coloured with promarkers and used some scraps of paper from K and co, forever friends, daisy and dandilion and some glitter paper , sorry don't know the make. I put them all on a lemon pearlised card after rounding all the corners. I coloured a couple or 4 flowers that were white with promarkers the same colours as I had on my image and stuck it altogether with the layout along the lines of the first sugar bowl sketch which I found on their last challenge.

I hope I've done this wee cutie justice.

Pink!!!

How hard was this for me.Talk about a challenge, I am so so not a pink girl as many of you will know, theoccassional splash is ok but ott pink I find so hard. Don't get me wrong there are some fantastically clever crafters out there who do pink in abundance so well and make it look so good , but boy do I struggle.
Anyway I've done this card for a few challenges who all have themes that I thought it would fit, and the less pink cards I have to do , well if I could do all the pink girly challenges in one I would.

Best let you get over the horror of my pink creation I suppose. I have to admit it's not all pink, just couldn't bring myself to do that but I really did try. I found one challenge that had pink and brown...saviour...lol, thank heavens but I have to say hope I've used enough pink for the pink and sweet challenges too.

The challenges I am entering, well provided I meet the criteria that is , are;-
Anya Ink-pink and sparkly
Pollycraft-pink and brown (or green and yellow)
Simon says-lets go to the movies with dry embossing too
ABC-s for sparkle
The Greeting Farm- fab sketch love the clean simple lines
Magical crafts fortnightly challenge-something for the girls
Anyone for Anya- sweet as sugar

Well my card has pink and is definitely sparkly.
It does have some brown too.
My movie would be 1980 Fame leg warmers and all, have to say preferred the TV series though , and haven't seen the remake.
It's definitely sparkly!
Sketch fab!
Is pink really the colour most girls like? All sickly and sweet if you ask me. Am I just not a girly girl? I suppose not yet I like doing some girly things , shopping, shoes, cooking and baking, shoes, arty things as hubby calls it, shoes , spending money , shoes. I do like boy type things though like decorating and messing with car engines too maybe I am a bit odd??

Have a great afternoon and thanks for dropping by. Did I tell you I like buying shoes?

Card for Grandma

Another post, gosh I am doing well, only because hubby is watching grand prix and whatever else is on tv, son is playing 'Sims' as usual when he can, I think he has a God complex, or he just likes it as he feels in control which he doesn't always with other things in his life. The other reason, Dad's poorly at home in bed so mum and dad won't be coming to lunch and hubby made the mistake of saying I could spend time cratfing and computer blogging so here I am, and so loving a little bit of me time.

This card is for Andrew to send to his Grandma in Tenerife for her birthday at the beginning of May. not sure if he will approve a s it's cute but as long as he writes on it I don't mind if he likes it or not, I'm sure Grandma will and thats what matters.

I coloured the flowers in sakura glaze along with souffle the duck and popcorn I coloured with promarkers for contrast using almond and soft peach. I kept the layers simple so the image remains focus of attention. I love doing clean and simple cards but really try to make more elaborate cards with embellishments etc, but often slip back to my comfort zone.

I am entering this card into the following challenges;_
The corrosive challenge-Texture-I used a strip of embossed card and raised glaze
Totally papercrafts-spring
Friday sketches-fab layout, might try it with more elaborate card too sometime as I think it would work well for thats style too.
Stamp something-layers
Polka Doodles-animal magic
Pixie Dust challenge-use Green
Cute card thursday-use texture- embossed card and raised glaze
CAS-tastic-anything (a new challenge blog for CAS cards also have a DT call)
Sentimental sundays-sentiment and flowers

Flitter sparkly butterfly

Morning all, well the clear blue skies of 3 hours ago are well gone and we now have a mostly white cloudy sky with little hints of blue, but it can always change again and it could be worse it could be raining or even snow!

My first card to post today was a quick make only as I already had all the bits sorted and just had to put it together. The butterfly is a stamp I had made as I couldn't find a big butterfly that I liked, I'm sure there is probably one out there but I obviously didn't look in the right places. I had this idea see that it would look great on acetate and covered in glitter, and I think I was right. I have another one done too in purples blues and greens but I'll save that one for another day and card. I quite like the time consuming glitterart of making the butterflies I find it quite theraputic and quite rewarding alot like colouring in.

The card is quite clean and simple if you don't count the time of making the butterfly and I don't think it needs much as the butterfly deserves to be centre of attention, hope you think so too.
I am entering this into a couple or so challenges if I can find them all on my bits of paper , so excuse me if I find one later and add it after I've published the post please.

The challenges are;-

Stampavie and more- butterflies
Our creative corner-butterflies
KLstampin n scrappin-bling it on ( my butterfly is just pure bling and I've not used embellishments hope its still ok )
One stop craft challenge- things with wings
Daring cardmakers-flaps that lift

A sugar bowl sweetie for mum-in-law

Hi all , I can't wait to have some proper time to spend crafting and blogging, I just don't know where the last few weeks have disappeared to. Never mind , well a quick post before I have to go put my fish pie in to warm up for dinner. This is the card I have made from hubby and me to mum-in-law who lives in Tenerife. I love my sugar nellie images they are all so sweet. Mum-i-l  has 2 daughters of her own and I'm sure this remind her of when they were young as they both have dark hair. The extra for the sugar bowl challenge along with the fab sketch is flowers and I havea few, I love this paper it's so clean and fresh , and I'm sad it's gone as it was just a A5 sheet freebie in a magazine and now it's all gone, but definitely for a good cause.

I coloured my image in a mix of promarkers and sakura glaze pens and just finished off with some pretty lime green ribbon. Thanks for popping by and I hope I'll be back really soon, as I have my son's card for his grandma to make yet.

Under the weather?

Well I hope non of you are. I am slowly growing to dislike this week and its only tuesday, but don't tell Andrew as he will think it's his fault. I best explain. Andrew has revision school at school this week , well 4 mornings and to enable his to go I have to go too, because he's not strong enough to be safe to do any transfers without support as he still needs to build up his strength he is not allowed in school without support and as there is a risk he might need help and still needs help in the bathroom he wouldn't be allowed in school without me being there to accept responsibilityHe would normally have TA help but as its the holidays there is non and until he is strong enough to get himself from the floor if he fell he isn't allowed back as the TA's aren't allowed to lift.. Andrew would have been quite happy not going as I think he's got out of the habit as he missed most of december last year due to exam leave and then school not allowing him in due to the snow and his wheelchair having to be pushed outside as there is little indoor access in much of the school, and the same in January. In fact from the beginning of december till he had surgery I think he was allowed in school 2 half days before being sent home.

There's no wonder he doesn't want to go back, the fact that he wouldn't be allowed as yet from H+ S is irrelavent and he will be on exam leave again in a few weeks. I take him to the session , collect him an hour and 1/2 later take him to the loo, well follow on behind as I haven't got a clue where to go, help him as needed then take him back to the next session. Between times I get to sit in the staff room which was quite cold yesturday, think I need to get my winter woolies out again for today. I can't even take any crafting to do as there are only waiting room sofas in there , you know the low back and seat  long bench time sofas. There are no tables so all I can do is read, and theres nothing intresting on the notice boards either. I at least know now why info doesn't get passed on as we are told it gets put on a bulletin board in the staff room if there's anything everyone needs to know and it's literally A4 size stuck in a corner away from the coffee. You'd have to walk to it to read, why not stick it above where everyone gets their drinks thats what we use to do at the hospital I worked at, stick things abouve the coffee cups and everyone see's it.

Sorry , I'm complaining and digressing as usual, it's a good job you all know what I'm like and can skip my we rants and moans.

My card I have finally finished, is a get well card. I have used a magnolia Tilda stamp in a rain shower for the main image and some papers I had in my scrap bag, I think they are K and co but have had them for what seems ages so not sure. I used a sentiment from my cc sugarplums spring kit, on the front. Inside , after colouring in greys for one of the challenges it reminded me of the wizard of oz film and I decided my card could do the same. The flowers are some that came in a scrap booking kit from costco and I think the stamp is heroarts. I coloured it in sakura pens and edged with a promarker. The backing papers were a magazine freebie from way back.

The challenges I will enter this card into are:-

Magnolicious DT challenge for April- layout, which I rotated
Ooh-la-la-April showers
For fun challenges-April showers bring may flower
Paperplay-shiny happy people(usedgloss, sparkle or shimmer) she has gloosy boots and sparkle
Saturday challenge secret crafter-get well
Magnolia down under-olden days

A just in case card

As you might know I decided I would make some just in case cards, weddings get well sympathy etc the kind of cards you never have when you want one in a hurry.

I got my CC spring sugarplums kit a little while ago so I decided to make my first wedding card. I did some paper piecing so I could overlay with vellum . I used some embossed white pearl paper with flowers on for the base and outlined the flowers with sakura glitter pen and then squiggled the glitter pen on the vellum too to give subltle shine. I added little pearls again with a sakura glaze pen to her veil, dress and bow. I left the bow on the back of her dress uncovered to give the effect you may find on a real wedding dress.

I used the same flower embossed paper as an imediate background along with another white embossed paper and some gold with silver bells card. The ribbon I overlaid on another white paper that has silvery pearl bobbles on. All the white papers came in a scrap book pack from costco ,the silver bells card is from qvc.

The roses were white ribbon that I coloured with my promarkers to match the image, they were fromJTF and the pearl are from hobbycraft. I hope it will be a card I could send to any happy couple for their special day, not that I have any weddings to go to that I know off but you never know what's around the corner do you?

I am entering this card into a few challenges, more than I thought but here they are listed below. All fab challenges if you fancy having a play too.

Crafty creations-paper piecing
Polka Doodles-wedding celebration
Moving along with the times-make an easel card
Totally Gorjuss-texture
Papercutz-use 3 patterned papers
Create for fun- fab layout
Allsorts-Petals and pearls
One stop craft challenge -on the move

Something different for me

Hi all I am so trying to catch up with posting the things I've made and I have so many coloured in images for cards I have planned to build my stocks just in case. I am going to try hard to fit them into challenges too so fingers crossed I can combine the 2.

These stamps I won from the world card making tour blog hop last year, it was great fun seeing all the different styles of card making from around the globe.

The stamps are from the Darkroom and I've been wanting to use them for a while but never quite managed to work out how for the best. I decided I would use them nomatter what this time so I picked a couple of challenges and tried to make the brain work a little. This is what I came up with.

I made a tag as that is the chaleenge at both Tuesday taggers and Just scraps. Something I rarely make, so that was a challenge in itself. I thought it could actually be used as a card topper if I didn't use it as a tag, perhaps on a male card or inspirational or motivation card or even a birthday card.

The layout is from the basic grey challenge , the basic grey papers were from Angela when she was having clearout candy a while ago so thankyou. I'm also entering my card into the challenge at Belli, whose theme is to use glimmer mist or some other colour spray which I used on my verticle card strip.

Thanks for popping by and hope the sun is shining where you all are too .

spring fresh

What a lovely day turned out to be and it was almost warm, though not shorts weather as Andrew wanted it to be.

I have decided the sunshine brings out the best in my son,as he started off in a fowl mood this morning and decided he wasn't going to do any school work as he had planned, as Dad tickling his feet good morning this morning put paid to that and all he intended doing was playing on his computer. The sun started to shine and my wonderful son asked if I would show him how to use the washing machine. I showed him and he said fine you go in the garden an I'll do you the washing and bring it to you when it's ready to peg out, how brill was that, it so saved me having to trapse in and out to check and get the washing.

Andrew is doing quite well post surgery now, he saw his Physio last week and she said she was extremely impressed by his progress but because he was doing so well not to get disheartened as it might seem like he comes to a stand still but will just be building strength and stamina and that might not be noticable to himself but visible to others.Thankyou to all who keep asking about him Ithink it actually makes him feel quite special and does talk about you all by name asking what you've been up to.

Well I suppose I best do a crafty bit now, I made this card when it was a little miserable and rainy the other day and never got around to posting it so I'm not sure how many of the challenges I considered when making it are still running but never mind will find that out in due course.

The card is pretty greens and yellows like spring daffodils hopefully. I had a go at making some flowers as none of the flowers I had looked right with the papers not even my daffodil heads. I have to admit I'm still not sure about them but at least they blend with the card. The card is designed with a child in mind so I covered the inside to make sure no little fingers got scratched by the backs of the brads and it looked pretty too.
The challenges it will hopefully be entered into are:

Critter challenge-fab layout and use gingham
Passion for promarkers-the young ones
Simon says-card for a child
Quixotic-the joys of spring
forever friends- spring
Just cute bears -yellow and green combo.

Fairytale magic

This time I have a couple of projects one of which you will realise wasn't done specifically for the challenge I will enter it in but I think fits with the challenge theme quite well.

This embroidery I finished a litlle while ago and it sits on my dining room wall as I thought it was an apt place to put it. I know strictly speaking Pooh bear stories aren't traditionally thought of as a fairytale but I suppose they along with many of the modern day childrens stories are probably the equivalent of a modern day fairytale.( sorry about the glass reflection)

I would like to enter this as my first entry into the challenge at By the cute and girly whose theme is fairytales. My second entry to their challenge is a card which I have silk painted, I love the vibreancy that you get when silk painting  and its so satisfying as you see the outlines fill and come to life. This card reminds me of the little mermaid a truely traditonal fairytale but now most probably thought of as a disney story and not Hans Christian Andersons. I know there's no mermaid but it's just what this image makes me think about, hope its ok.

I would also like to enter this card into the challenge at Magical crafts who have a challenge of animal antics. The pooh embroidery could also be entered as its full of animals but I'd best check first to see if you can enter more than once first. They also have a dt call on at the mo so why not pop over and see .

Who doesn't love shoes?

Hands up, I really can't see many out there apart from the odd male amongst us.

well I really do love shoes and have to say honestly I have several pairs that I have bought and so far not worn and I don't mean I bought them last week probably a year or more ago, in some cases. Please don't tell my hubby though as I don't always tell him when I buy shoes and he already calls me Imelda when it comes to me finding a pair to go out in and I rake through the bottom of the wardrobe looking for a cetain pair, he really doesn't understand when it comes to shoes.

Die cut dreams has the perfect girly challenge well in my case anyway, it's boots and shoes of course. Now I had a thing about making shaped cards a while ago and came up with this boot card, oh I'd love a pair of boots like this and whats more I'd love to be one of these people who could walk around in heels that size or higher all day and not feel or look like my feet were about to drop of, how do they do it? All I can think is that they have their feet anaethatised so they just don't feel them.

Anyway I got to thinking what kind of cards could you do for men if you worked on their articles of clothing. I suppose the obvious would be shirts, ties , suits , sports gear. I decided shoes. They pay out a fortune for trainers and then say they aren't bothered about shoes they are joking right?
Well I decided I'd do some boys shoes too, unfortunately I only have one left, thought I had two but can only find one , I've probably just miss filed it but I think you'll get the idea. I got mum's catalogue and sketched some of the mens sneaker boots and trainers the expensive ones and then had a bit of a play and this is what I came up with.

Thought I might enter it into a couple of other challenges too. The first is the pixie dust challenge which is black, white and one other colour which I count as beige on the boot lace. I hope I'm in time and not done my usual missed deadline trick.

Prairie fairy have a challenge to use texture . I have leather look card and dry embossing and a touchy feely boot lace, so in I go.Again I think I may well be cutting it close to the deadline, just don't know where this week has gone.

I would also like to enter my sneaker/trainer boot into the challenge at a spoonful of sugar as their challenge is one for the boys. I did miss last times shaped cards challenge which this card would have been ok for too , but never mind it was obviously meant to go in this challenge so hre it is.

Well enjoy your evening and don't wear those feet out take plenty of rest crafting and surfing the blogs. Thanks for popping by .

Carlyann if you like suprises please don't look!

I was hoping I would have got this posted in the post box by now so I could post it here, without fear of Carlyann seeing it before she recieved it. I should explain, I belong to a fab fun club called the craft rak club, the logo is on my side bar. Every so often we have a craft rak and names are drawn out of the hat so to speak and we get a partner to send a crafty rak to. I'm sure if you wanted to join you could. We also do birthday raks that don't break the bank, but I am so looking forward to recieving some beautiful cards from all the other members , if their blogs are anything to go by they will be so beautiful.

Well this time my craft rak partner is Carlyann and from her blog I have a feeling that she quite likes pink, so although it really isn't my colour and I so rarely make an all pink card I thought for Carlyann I would have a go, move out of my comfort zone and all that. Carlyann deserves it as she has had a bit of a rough time lately with her poorly pussy cat and a car accident too. When you get my card etc I hope it helps to cheer you up if only by you having a good laugh at my disaster in pink. I must say I do find it hard to know if I got it right as I'm so not into pink and anything more than a little splash just looks wrong to me when I do it, I don't know how Carlyann and other fab crafters make it look so good.

I decided to totally challenge myself by making a fancy fold card too. I saw this on the sugar nellie site , fab tutorial and thought I'd give it a go. Quite time consuming but I love the card design and you can get away with no envelope if you give it to the recipient by hand delivery. I'm sure if you try you could make it look fantastic but mines pretty basic.

I thought I might enter my card into a few challenges . The first being moving along with the times. I have used their sketch and somehow always seem to be on the last legs or just miss the entry deadline, hope I'm just cutting it fine this time. The challenge is to use the sketch, pink brown and ribbon.

Here's another that I seem to be only scrapping in to as the deadline is 9pm tonight. The challenge over at The creative cottage is pretty pink, so hope mine counts.

KLstampin n scrappin  have a recipe challenge . Use 1 image or sentiment, 2 different papers and 3 embellishments.Hope my plain backing papers don't count or I've gome over the top on the paper count.

Secret saturday craft challenge have a theme entitled 'how does your garden grow?' Hopefully my pretty little gardner will come under that umberella challenge.

Stamp somethings challenge is simply pink and thats one thing my card has a lot of.

Pollycraft have an anything goes challenge this week so here's an entry for that challenge too.

Crafty cardmakers have a challenge that I didn't even realised I would be entering. I challenged myself on 2 counts, using colours I don't normally and making such a fancy card base.

The fancy card base means I can also enter the Incy wincy challenge as they want a card that has at least 2 folds , mine has 4 I think so I'm in .

Zesty Edward

Now I have a couple of greeting farm stamps I can now play along with a few more challenges. The first challenge this card is for in Anyone for Anya, though my card has Edward on it. They now allow you to use swiss pixie stamps too so thats brilliant news as I got some of those recently too. I used their layout which I thought would be fab for a boys card hence using Edward as I really need to build my male card stock up, unfortunately. I haven't as yet added a sentiment as i'm not sure who this will be for, son hubby , brother nephew, dad etc you get the picture I'm sure. I may have missed the deadline- not sure but never mind if I have there's always next time now.Yep I missed the deadline but this time there is an anything goes challenge so I will enter this card for the challenge this week and at least my entry should be an early one.lol.

The colour sheme is for the sketchy colours challenge, but I so love these colours together. For some reason, turquoise, white ,brown and orange remind me of summer, and I think they go so well together.OOps missed the deadline on this one!

Anya Ink have a nice easy theme and that is anything goes, so my little Edward can pop along and play over there too.

Well I'm off to spend more time with my family, we had sister-in-law and brother -in- law over yesturday but today a nice quiet family day for me and my 2 boys. I'm just here while the grand prix is being watched, don't even think they will notice I'm not there at the mo. Have a great day and thanks for popping by.

Using scraps Sugar bowl

Good morning all and happy easter sunday, or just happy sunday if you don't celebrate easter.

This first card I have today is for the fab challenge at the sugar bowl where you get to choose what sketch layout to do from their past sketches. I really loved this as I only fond the sugar bowl a couple of months ago and I had great fun looking back at all the past sketches , there are so many fab ones I had a hard time choosing. I finally decided on sketch 10 .

I decided to add a further challenge myself and that was to use colours I normally steer clear of and to make it all from scraps from my scrap box. This I know means I must have used these papers and colours at some point but not normally , or altogether.

I decided to carry the theme through to the inside of the card and the envelope. I'm still not keen on the colour scheme but it's growing on me , but I love the layout. Thanks for a great challenge Sugar bowl.

Lorraine's light as a feather candy

Lorraine of Lorraine's loft has some candy for us, she and Heidi at Simon says are such generous people as they do a candy give away every fortnight, and this time it is such a cute little house mouse stamp , well a happy hopper really from Housemouse. How cute is this, I would so like it to come live with me. How many people wish we could loose some excess pounds and when getting weighed wish we could hop like this.

Pop over to Lorraine's and you too could join in with the fun .
